Tomato router internet support for USB tethered Android phone on Netgear R7000
I can see "Support for USB 3G/4G modems" in the features for Fresh Tomato https://freshtomato.org/features.html
But is there a way to tether an Android phone via USB and share its internet connection through the router?
I really do not want to buy another data plan with a 3G/4G USB dongle when I have a perfectly good mobile phone data plan.

Dual WAN (FT 2020.8) issue: VPN does not switch over from WAN2 to WAN, when WAN2 goes down - results in loss of Internet access
I am using the following build: freshtomato-K26USB-NVRAM32K_RT-MIPSR2-2020.8-BT-VPN
I have a dual WAN setup with 1:1 load balancing. There are no rules in MultiWAN Routing. Watchdog is set to check connections every 1 minute in Traceroute mode.
VPN Client 1 is configured as follows: a)Start with WAN checked and b) Redirect Internet traffic field set to All.
No external script is used to split VPN traffic.

[SOLVED] Can't access devices by their FQDNs from Double NAT network
I just upgraded to 2021.2 and my local domain name has stopped working.
I tried to change it several times in the GUI and GUI shows that it's been saved but I don't think it's set in the system.
I'm not sure where it's usually saved in fresh-tomato, but the obvious place like /etc/hosts shows that it's not saved there.
What is the best way to do it on the command line?

SOLVED: WAN Bandwidth Last 24 Hours Reads Half Of The Correct Value - Asus RT-AC66U_B1 Freshtomato 2021.1
UPDATE: see last post
After upgrading my Asus RT-AC66U_B1 with Freshtomato 2020.6 to 2021.1 (very easy, normal upgrade, no NVRAM clear needed), I noticed the 24 Hour WAN graph was reading about half of the Real-Time graph. I also confirmed the Real-Time graph was accurate and the 24 Hour graph was incorrect with STG SNMP Traffic Grapher and the individual network applications driving the traffic.

How to Minimize Qos effect (to have View details / Transfer rates working)

I am using an Asus AC66U B1 with Freshtomato, and sadly this version of Tomato don't permit to have : http://192.168.1.1/qos-detailed.asp and/or http://192.168.1.1/qos-ctrate.asp active without enabling QOS. Those two pages are empty if we don't enable QOS, but i don't need QOS, i just need more visibility on my router, and what ip are connected, and what bandwidth is consumed by those IPS...

[R7000] freshtomato (2021.1) going mad

I'm posting here, as a last resort, I don't known what else to do with my shitty router ...
I always had network issues with official firmware. So recently, I switched to freshtomato AIO 2021.1. It started to work well ...... for 1 week. And since then, it's hell on hearth.
here are the symptoms :
- when it's working, ping average is in the 10s ms range, no packet loss, 62°C CPU
- CPU gets really hot, it raises from 62°c (normal operation) to 70°c
- wifi gets average 1 to 3...

Unable to open UDP port 1194 for OpenVPN server
Hello everybody,
I am trying to setting up my OpenVPN sever on Tomato 2021.1 router firmware.
I already configured Port Forwarding on my ISP router to allow incoming connection via TCP/UDP on port 1194, then I set up my OpenVPN server on Tomato router.
If I start my OpenVPN server using TCP protocol and 1194 port I see that that port is open on my public IP address, but then if I switch to UDP protocol the 1194 port on my public IP address results closed. I don't understand why.

R7000 and FreshTomato 2020.3: low 5Ghz connection speeds.
I flashed my R7000 with 2020.3, coming from the stock Netgear firmware. Erased NVRAM.
Problem: all 5Ghz / AC-clients have a low bandwith connection with the router.

Intercept DNS port LAN traffic
If "Intercept DNS port" is checked does this mean only port 53 traffic to the internet is intercepted, or is LAN port 53 traffic also intercepted?
For example, if set a DNS server through Dnsmasq, and the DNS server is sending queries to the internet on port 5335, will this traffic be intercepted?

32MB RAM Upgrade for WRT54GL?

I have looked through the forums and was unable to find anyone else who attempted this (or their end results): I am going to replace the 16MB RAM chip on my WRT54GL v1.1 (running Tomato 1.07) with a 32MB chip. Has anyone else out there done this? If so, did you hit any stumbling blocks?

internet speed problem from ISP's Router to Netgear R8000
hello everybody, i have a VODAFONE FTTH Fiber 1GBs Speed, while tested speedtest i get a range of speed from 600 to 900mb.
i connected the ISP router from lan port to the WAN of my Netgear R8000 with FreshTomato installed.
The problem is that the speed i get from the netgear is much lower and alway no more than 300mb, maybe some setting is blocking it?

- Why is it required to assign an IP to each bridge created? I have a guest VLAN and I'd rather not have my access point reachable from there: is there any way of disabling this?
- Assigning a VLAN a different VID in the range of the available VLAN IDs (0-15 in my case) will break connectivity for that VLAN - I banged my head...

Tomato Adblock versus Pihole
Currently using a Pihole, thinking about replacing it with adblocking on the router to keep things simple. When testing Tomato adblocking with RT-N66U it appears that RAM is not an issue, even when loading the large lists, but that CPU is the issue (depending on the number of domains blocked).
Does Tomato adblocking basically just use Dnsmasq to run a DNS query through the entire list of blocked domains, hence the more domains on the blocklist the slower the process is for each query?

I am more or less noob and just trying to configure my network.
I have a couple of VLANs and have the idea to put some (in general) in the VPN tunnel.
Is ist possible to route i.e. 192.168.9.* (or simular) or do that with a line of code (instead of adding all devices manually)
I have an netgear R7000 with the latest freshtomato.

Asus RT-AC1750_B1 FT Support?
The Asus RT-AC1750_B1 (that's model B1) is not listed as supported. It is the equivalent of the RT-AC66U_B1 (with USB2 and 3) as the US Retail Edition (like the old "R" series in older products). I have the HW:B2 available for testing. I believe there was also an A1 and B1 in the RT-AC66U_B1 series, but uncertain if those HW versions exist in the US Retail model. The HW:B2 I have on hand is 2017 production date.

2021.2 miniVPN, WRT54GL, Default openVPN Ciphers Not Honored
