FreshTomato-ARM. Version 2021.2

Hi guys.

I would like to report an issue with this firmware, which is might be a bug.
Over time my R8000 loses 2.4 GHz. It looks a little bit weird. Main interface disappear from the list of detected radios on my cellphone.
However, 2 Virtual Wireless interfaces I have for this radio are visible, but not connectable.
That happened already a few times and the only solution that helps is to reboot the router.

Stubby issue on PPPoE setup - 2020.8

I have upgraded most of my routers from 2020.6 to 2020.8 and mostly everything went well (as expected).
There's only one router that caused me issues and it's an EA6900. Essentially after the upgrade the remote site became unresponsive. After a quick investigation I realised it was a DNS issue and specifically Stubby not being able to kick off properly. To be said all my installations use Stubby with no-resolv and only this one failed.

Hi everyone, first post here.

I have a DDWRT160N v3.

So I am wondering how I would accomplish this.
1) I have the router set as a bridge.
2) I have a single PC behind that
I want to monitor total daily megabytes it sends/receives.

I would like to log the traffic from the lan port to the wireless since its acting as a bridge and now the WLAN port is my new WAN port.
Is there something I can do to reconfigure this to do that?

It would be pretty neat if Tomato saw that the user configured...

SAMBA + Win10? Try disabling the Win10 loopback.

I have been troubleshooting for sometimes now some sort of slowness on my SAMBA share (tomato but also openmediavault NAS).
If I got this right it turns out to be an issue with the loopback device in Windows 10; a device you probably can't even see by in either device manager or via powershell.

Apparently installing the device to then disable it seems to do the trick and it drastically reduces the lag/latency in accessing samba shares from Win10

How to flash Linksys EA6300v1, EA6400, EA6500v2, EA6700, EA6900v1.0/1.1 with Tomato.
The EA6300v1 uses the same firmware as EA6400 since the routers are exactly the same.

WARNING:
If anything goes wrong this can brick your router and I will not be held responsible if that happens. You're doing this at your own risk.

For these router a different CFE needs to be flashed otherwise only 32k of NVRAM can be used and that is not enough but for the most basic setup...

Device goes missing from LAN after device reboot

I have an Ubuntu 20.04 device (Thin Client) in my LAN that keeps dropping off after I do a reboot on the device (shutdown -r now).

I have a CentOS, and a Fedora thin clients also in the same subnet that never exhibits this behaviour.

There are a few workarounds that work, which I don't find acceptable atm:
  • Log into CentOS device. From CentOS device log into Ubuntu device
  • Initiate VPN (wireguard) tunnel (where wg server is on the Ubuntu box) from PC. Suddenly the Ubuntu box...

2021.2 : E2000 : Cannot get PPPoE to bind , but works in 2021.1

Hello All
I installed 2021.2 on my E2000 today. Uptil then it was running 2021.1 for good 5+ months without any issues
The 2021.1 was successfully able to bind to ISP via PPPoE
But strangely in 2021.2 pppoe was not even being launched

Once I rolled back to 2021.1, pppoe started to work again.

I did a factory reset on firmware upgrade (and on firmware downgrade) and freshly setup my PPPoE username/password.
I did check the 2021.2 logs and no PAD0 packets via pppoe were being sent at all in...

Local domain name not setting in 2021.2

I just upgraded to 2021.2 and my local domain name has stopped working.

I tried to change it several times in the GUI and GUI shows that it's been saved but I don't think it's set in the system.
I'm not sure where it's usually saved in fresh-tomato, but the obvious place like /etc/hosts shows that it's not saved there.

What is the best way to do it on the command line?

I just upgraded to 2021.2 and my local domain name has stopped working.

I tried to change it several times in the GUI and GUI shows that it's been saved but I don't think it's set in the system.
I'm not sure where it's usually saved in fresh-tomato, but the obvious place like /etc/hosts shows that it's not saved there.

What is the best way to do it on the command line?

Hey,

Yesterday I updated my 2020.3 to 2021.1, upgrade was fine but afterwards some of pages not functioning well so I decided to make a clear install and reinstalled again with clearing nvram. After the installation the device bricked.

I have successfully flashed dd-wrt via usb-ttl method and on dd-wrt admin page I tried to install freshtomato again but it keeps bricked stage on Tomato firmware.

Since I couldn't get the output of boot I recorded it, maybe it could help. By the way even...

So I have netgear R7000 with FreshTomato 2021.1 and I want to update it to 2021.2.
Because I use VPN feature unstable on this version, like not working sometime and using real ip and most of time takes a long time to be ready.

I noticed version 2021.2 has been released which contain several improvements with openvpn, Can someone please tell me how to have an update to 2021.2?

I am new with custom firmware flashing. I believe I am using AIO version which includes everything.

I tried to search the forums, and really just have one question:

I have downloaded the stock Genie file, which will be flashed first. Then the Initial Tomato file, then the AIO Tomato file. When/where/how do I do the NVRAM reset? Do I do it in the GUI? Is it a 30-30-30 of the reset button, or do I not do it? All I could find was a post from @Fatih K :

VLAN query

Hi, I'm trying to configure my R7000 with DD-WRT to tag clan correctly per my requirements but it seems to be behaving very strange and not respecting my VLANs based on the wifi network I am connected to. I performed a pcap on pfSense and see my wifi connected devices (on same SSID) flicking between VLAN ID 11 and VLAN ID 13.

Can you please kindly help verify my settings are correct? Attached screenshot of them and a rough network diagram.

My setup:

Fresh Tomato 2021.2 on a ASUS RT-AC68U
WAN0: DSL line. Down 15 Mbps / Up 1 Mbps
WAN1: 4G/LTE. Down 25 Mbps / Up 25 Mbps (metered, 30GB/month)

Why would a LAN network stream stall when I'm doing an online speed test?

I have a AC1900P (ac19p) and a ac56u as a backup.

I'm having internet problems of sorts with the ac19p.

Last night the internet stopped working. Weird behavior of the ac19p that was the main router, was that after a reset, IP 24hour traffic failed to load from cstats on the attached USB drive so for backup I put in the ac56u for main duties. It was 100% working before I upgraded to the ac19p.

Router: Netgear R6250
Firmware: FreshTomato 2021.2 AIO-64K

Today I installed amule via "opkg install amule" on the router. When I start amule, it seems like everything is OK. No error message pops up. However, when I check the amule running status, it always shows dead. No single file was generated in the folder of /opt/var/amule, not was the folder created. I couldn't figure out what the problem is. I also did "opkg update" and "opkg upgrade" but it didn't help. Please help. Thank you...
