IP traffic and lan transfers

I may just have a lack of understanding here or IP traffic may not be working as intended. Is it only suppose to log WAN traffic or all traffic? I had a transfer at 5gbs of which shows in BW monitoring for the selected interfaces but not under IP traffic for realtime. Is there a specific configuration that I am missing here?

Edit: Well I found this link which cites that IP traffic is monitoring the WAN port/interface which would exclude LAN transfers correct?...
