Asus RT AC56U Router with Tomato fails work as VPN

Hi, Im a complete novice when it comes to this subject and most things to do with routers and firmware! However not to be put off Ive recently purchased an Asus RT AC56U Router which I've managed to load with Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 -3.3-138 K26ARM USB AIO-64K. Ive followed the set up instructions on the IPVanish website, and all seems OK until I try and set it to run! For some reason when I check the status its always says STOPPED.
