Shibby MultiWAN fails to atuomatically update time when only WAN2 is functional

I am having trouble with a combination of ntp/ntpsync, openVPN, MultiWAN, and possibly scheduling and VLANs.

I have an ASUS RT-N12 configured with 2 WANs, and 4 LAN interfaces/bridges on independent VLANs. The WAN port is connected to a managed switch with WAN1 untagged and WAN2 is a tagged VLAN on the WAN port.
