After reading several posts on how the "best" way to configure QOS with for torrents clients running directly on the router, as far as I understood the best way to do that is to create an alias on the LAN side, and QOS that particular IP address.
I added this command to the init script
(sleep 10;/sbin/ifconfig br0:1 192.168.1.248 netmask 255.255.255.0 up) &
and configured bit torrent to bind to that IP address:
"bind-address-ipv4": "192.168.1.248",
And the extra port forwarding to...
